What Platform Is Your Software Based On?

The platform 'Tall Zebra' Specializes in is called DotNetnuke, or DNN for short.

It'ss based on a system of components called 'Skins', 'Modules' and 'Containers'. Since there are thousands of evolving combinations between the three, it means there are virtually an unlimited number of possibilities - all available at a very affordable price.

'Skins' refer to the overall look and feel of a DNN web site, 'Modules' are the technology components and 'Containers' are online boxes in which the modules are embedded.

Every day software programmers around the world are developing and enhancing user-friendly new 'Modules', great looking new 'Skins' to add to the system, making it already the most expansive and diverse system for building sites in the history of web site development.

How does the DotNetNuke Platform Compare to Other Platforms, such as...

  • Traditional HTML Pages - in terms of functionality, its very similar to comparing a Ferrari to a Ford Focus. While DNN does use HTML code, the real power lies in its ability to allow speciality component 'modules' to be embedded and updated on the site, allows users the option to esily update text online 24/7 from anywhere around the world with no special software required, and allows administrations the option to restrict access to certain users based on roles that they're assigned.

  • PHP  - while many developers continue to develop using PHP, DNN is the best choice for long term developement, for reason such as speed of integration, the rate at which DNN components are being enhanced, and ease of use for training administrators on having the ability to update the site internally. The latter benefit offers HUGE financial benefits for larger companies when it comes to training costs.

What If I Already Have A Web Site Based On a Different Platform?

It really boils down to how large a site is and how integrated you wanted user information to be. Generally speaking it is best to have us convert a site over so that all user and administrator information is integrated. The fee for this starts as low as $750.

If you have a large site and only want certain features added, such as a shopping cart that is easy for your administrators to update, we can host that for you on the Tall Zebra web site, and links can be routed back and forth form your primary site.

What If I Don't Have A Web Site Yet Because I Just Launched My Business?

Tall Zebra can create a very basic site for you, for as little as $750. We can also train you on how to easily update the text on your site so you can be up and running in no time. The greatest advantage of getting set up on the DNN platform even for the smallest of businesses, is that it will save you a tremendous amount of time and money for when you're ready to expand your businsess.

Who Will Update My Site Or 'Modules' Once They're Set Up?

One of the biggest advantages about the DNN platform is the training capability for the average in-house administrator.

We offer online training for any number of users based on an hourly rate schedule. If you prefer us to make regular updates for you however, a program can be set up for that instead.
